Wisconsin FASD Treatment Outreach Project
The Wisconsin FASD Treatment Outreach Project (WTOP) provides training and consultation on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD), clinical assesment of women and children at risk, and support to professionals to work with individuals with FASDs.
Project Activities
Provide FASD education, training & technical assistance
Facilitate FASD diagnostic assesment either on-site or through referral to the University of Wisconsin Clinical Genetics Center
Provide follow-up support for individuals receiving a diagnosis of an FASD and their families including adaptive functioning assessments and a family service plan.
Provide resources and referrals
Advocate for services and resourses on behalf of the individual and their families (Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Social Security assistance)
Training Opportunity
The Wisconsin Treatment Outreach Project (WTOP) is providing a limited
number of partial or full registration scholarships for the March 7 -
11, 2011 FASD Training of Trainers (TOT) Certificate Program to
women's treatment and ancillary services providers in Wisconsin.
The week long training will be held in Verona, Wisconsin; and will
provide an overview of FASD and related issues as well a prepare
participants to become certified FASD educators.
Participants who successfully complete all TOT requirements receive 3.
0 (30 hours) of continuing education units and the "FASD Trainer
Certificate" from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Please complete and return the "WTOP TOT Scholarship Application Form"
to apply for a full or partial scholarship to attend the March 7 - 11,
2011 TOT. Please note: Scholarship recipients who do not satisfactorily
complete the requirements by September 12, 2011 will be billed for the
full amount of their scholarship.
WTOP intends to provide scholarships to a diverse group of training
participants from across Wisconsin; and applicants may be placed on a
wait list pending a thorough review of potential applicants. Email
confirmation regarding receipt of scholarship application will be sent
within one week of receipt of all documentation.

FASD Outreach Clinic
WHO: Individuals (children, young adults, and adults) who are interested in seeing a medical doctor to be assessed for the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure.
WHAT: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) is an umbrella term to describe the range of effects that can occur in an individual whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is the most recognizable of these conditions.
